In 1957, D-Types were placed 1-2-3-4-6, with only a solitary Ferrari in 5th spoiling the parade. In picture, car numbered '6' (Ecurie Ecosse, XKD 504, 'long-nose') was the first long-nose D-Type built. Car '3' (Ecurie Ecosse, XKD 606, 'long-nose') is the 1957 Le Mans winner and car '17' (Equipe Los Amigos, XKD 513, 'short-nose') was third. Number '25' (Jaguar Works, XKD 605, 'long-nose') was 6th at Le Mans in 1956.
