This is a long-range, photographic reconnaissance aircraft that was in the service of the Royal Romanian Air Force. On 22 July 1943, it was flown to Cyprus by a Romanian pilot who wanted to defect to the British forces on the island. Four Hurricanes from No. 127 Squadron escorted it to the airfield at Tobruk. Given the name Baksheesh, it was allocated the RAF serial number HK959 and test-flown in Egypt. Howev

Given the name Baksheesh, it was allocated the RAF serial number HK959 and test-flown in Egypt. However, by this point in the war, the RAF had already acquired three Ju-88s in flying condition and 'Baksheesh' was handed over to the U.S. Army Air Forces, who flew it across the South Atlantic to Wright Field.
