East Ancol, Jakarta, Indonesia. 2nd June 2009. Scientists from the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) are working with research instruments on the beach, which is a part of a series of their research activities to find out, among others, how far the sea water infiltration has impacted the groundwater source quality in the city of Jakarta, Indonesia. Jakarta has been suffering from land subsidence, sea water infiltration and floods.
