Dr Tibor Szonyi (1903-1949), was a member of the National Assembly of Hungary. He was executed later after a famous trial, along with Laszlo Rajk and Andras Szalai. This was a communist "show trial" where the testimony was false but forced upon the witnesses through torture and intimidation. The injustice of this trial helped to trigger the 1956 Revolution against the communist government.
