The colourful azalea bush in foreground and Duddingston Kirk behind make a colourful spring scene. In 1963 Dr's Andrew and Nancy Neil local GPs (who both died in 2005) began work on part of the Duddingston Glebe (church land) and Dr Neil's Garden was born. The ground had previously been grazed by calves and geese but its steep slope and rocks made it unsuitable for crops, so never previously cultivated before the Neil's transformed the site into a series of colourful terraces evident now.
