North Atlantic Grey Seals (Halichoerus grypus atlantica) can often be seen around the North Devon coast and estuaries. The Atlantic surf can be a dangerous environment. Many of the young animals do not make it through their first winter. This skeleton was washed up during heavy seas at Greencliff.
