The ship had suffered a storm near the Azores by the beginning of November during which part of the grain had slid to one side. For the arrival of the ''Passat'' in the Hamburg port many residents of Hamburg had appeared at the pier - although the weather was stormy and rainy - in order to greet the homecoming seamen.
