More information:

Derwent village in Derbyshire was cleared in the 1940s to create Ladybower Reservoir to serve the growing need for water of the nearby cities of Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham and Leicester. The ruins of the village, last exposed following a dry spell in 1995, drew large crowds of curious onlookers in Autumn 2018 after a sustained dry summer which has resulted in the water level in the reservoir dropping significantly.
