Chinese tourists made 726 million domestic trips during the just concluded week-long National Day holiday, up 9.43% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Revenue reached 599 billion yuan, an increase of 9% compared to that of last year, but the growth rate is 4.9 percentage points lower than that of 2017. Tourists enjoyed better experiences during their trips. The national tourism complaint hotline received 736 calls, falling 9.25% year-on-year. Culture has become a new attraction for tourists. More than 90% of tourists went to museums, libraries and art galleries during the holiday and the booking for cultural attractions such as the Summer Palace, Terracotta Warriors, and Horses of Qin Shihuang Mausoleum rose by 36% compared to that of last year.
