Phidippus regius, also known as the "Regal Jumping Spider", is a species of spider that is found primarily in the southeastern United States. This spider is known for its striking appearance, with a shiny black body and iridescent blue-green chelicerae, or fangs. Phidippus regius is an active and agile hunter, preying on a variety of insects and other arthropods. Despite its small size, it is a formidable predator, with keen eyesight and the ability to leap up to 50 times its body length to catch its prey. Due to its striking appearance and acrobatic abilities, Phidippus regius is a popular subject of study and observation among arachnologists and spider enthusiasts alike.
