Christina of Sweden was a monarch who ruled Sweden from 1632 until her abdication in 1654. She was known for her interest in art, culture, and philosophy, and her reign was marked by significant cultural achievements. Christina was also a controversial figure, as she converted to Catholicism and abdicated her throne in order to pursue her interests in art and learning. After her abdication, she traveled extensively throughout Europe, eventually settling in Rome, where she became an important patron of the arts and sciences
