Cadorna line is the system of fortifications built in Italy, along the Italo-Swiss border, during the First World War in order to stop a possible invasion from Austro-German troops by the central Swiss Alps. It was never used during the First World War. During the Second World War it was not used during military attacks but utilized as partisan base.
