E Newell, Esq , 519 Mission St., San Francisco Dear Sir:—I have a standard bred "Cupid" mare raised by Adolph Spreckels, the well-known Calirornian and horse breeder, and after driving her a few months a bad spavin showed itself. It was fired and blistered by a veterinary and the animal turned out for three months. The spavin was obstinate and the mare continued lame.
