Bantry, West Cork, Ireland. 8th Jan, 2022. Today is the 43rd anniversary of the Whiddy Island disaster when the oil tanker, M.V. Betelgeuse, caught fire as she was unloading her cargo of crude oil at the Whiddy Island oil terminal. The disaster eventually claimed the lives of 51 people. Maritime lawyer and son of victim Tim Kingston, Michael Kingston, has tirelessly campaigned for the victims death certificates to read 'unlawful death'. Credit: AG News/Alamy Live News
