The fossils of the Asiago Plateau belong to the Jurassic period. They are dated to the Malm period of Jurassic. They are characterized by red calcareous called red marble of Asiago. This marble is rich in fossil fauna including large ammonites. The sedimentary rock is formed from well-stratified limestone nodule.
