The Russian tank - type T-72B - was hit by a mine in March during the attack on Kyiv and was thus captured by Ukraine. For the first anniversary of the war private donors and activists had the tank transported to Berlin and placed it as a sign of protest at the main road Unter den Linden right across from the Russian embassy. For three days this grim reminder of the agression and the cruel war was a major attraction for the people.
