Apr 11, 1959 - Paris, France - (File Photo) ALEC CLUNES (born Alexander S. D. Clunes) was an English actor and theater manager. He was born into a showbusiness family, and began his career on the stage. He played numerous Shakespearian roles, before taking over the management of the Arts Theatre, London in 1942 to 1950. His film career was brief, including the role of Hastings in Laurence Olivier's Richard III (1956). Clunes later stage work included succeeding Sir Rex Harrison as Henry Higgins in the stage musical 'My Fair Lady' in 1959.
