An airplane flies in front of Winter Solstice Moon over London. December's full moon has earned the nickname of the Cold Moon which falls shortly after Friday's winter solstice and the peak of the Ursid Meteor Shower - the activity that begins annually around December 17 and runs for a week plus, until the 25th or 26th.
