The Okavango River is a long river african, born in Bie Plateau in Angola, in a very rainy area , and after a journey of almost 1, 000 km extensive enters a closed basin , and in Botswana , which has formed alluvial region improperly named and known worldwide as the Okavango Delta . As leads to an area with a very arid climate , it is an allochthonous rivers, such as the Nile River in Egypt, or the Niger River in Mali. Its watershed drains an area of 721, 277 km ² . The rainy season in the delta coincides with that of Angola, which takes place between October and April and produce the flood of the Okavango River , which begins to be felt in December and takes nine months to complete due to the low gradient of the river , about 60 m to 450 km. The rains are more abundant in the north and lower in the south, where the river goes into the Kalahari.
