NEW ULM WAS FOUNDED IN 1854 BY A GROUP OF GERMAN IMMIGRANTS WHO NAMED IT FOR THE CITY OF ULM IN THE DANUBIAN DISTRICT OF WURTTEMBERG, GERMANY
