A family group including a child in a pushchair of the period, with a Burton store in the background. This is a photograph from an album of mainly snapshots, c1929, during the occupation of Palestine by the British Army, with photos from Palestine and UK including Devil's Jump near Churt in Surrey and Devil’s Punch Bowl. Training seems to be at Hursley Camp, near Winchester. Great Britain administered Palestine on behalf of the League of Nations between 1920 and 1948, a period referred to as the "British Mandate".
