A Chinese model displays 64-bit CPU - NANO microprocessors made by Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer Via Technologies during a launch ceremony in Beijing, 29 May 2008. The Nano processors offer a significant performance boost over the existing C7 line of processors of Via and will compete against Intels Atom processors, particularly the Diamondville version of the chips set to be announced at the Computex exhibition in Taipei next week. The Nano processors are now shipping to hardware makers in five versions, with clock speeds ranging from 1GHz up to 1.8GHz. The first laptops based on the chips could hit the market during the third quarter.
