Griffith Observatory sits on the south facing slope of Mount Hollywood in Los Angeles' Griffith Park. It is free to the public and an extremely popular destination due to its exhibits and panoramic views of the Hollywood hills and greater Los Angeles area. This shot is taken next to the rooftop periscope tube of the camera obscura. Note the couple taking a photo of the famous Hollywood sign, clearly visible from the north side of the observatory. The city of Los Angeles is visible from the south side.
