The painting was in the possession of a family from Neuss, lay for a long time packed in rubbish bags on a cupboard and was offered on 30.01.2020 in the ZDF programme "Bares für Rares". Instead of the hoped-for 300 euros for the oil painting, mother and daughter received 1650 euros from a Wiesbaden art dealer. The Friends of the Potsdam Museum became aware of the purchase, collected donations for the purchase of the painting from 1917 and now donated it to the museum.
