[ 1900s Japan - Admiral Heihachiro Togo ] — Formal portrait of Fleet Admiral of the Imperial Japanese Navy, Heihachiro Togo (1848-1934). Togo is one of Japan’s greatest naval heroes, coined the Nelson of the East by Western journalists. He was instrumental in destroying the Russian Baltic Fleet at the Battle of Tsushima in 1905 during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905). 20th century vintage glass slide.
