RFRG0EAA–Francisco Goya (1746-1828) was a Spanish painter and printmaker. Considered the most important Spanish artists of the time, he is honored as one of the last of the Old Masters and one of the first of the Moderns. His early paintings were optimistic and jolly, as the years passed, his works became very pessimistic. Goya was a highly regarded portrait painter and did this one of Queen Maria Luisa, the wife of Charles Bourbon IV, in 1790.
