Research scientist Jerry Pratt and associates take turns shoving M2V2, a bipedal robot, to gauge its recovery time Nov. 13, 2009, at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition in Pensacola, Florida. M2V2 is unique in its ability to mimic the human heel-to-toe motion and right itself without falling when slightly pushed. Pratt says it's not yet mastered being pushed backwards though and will still sometimes fall. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
