Renal cancer. Swelling in the underarm region due to cancer of the kidney in a 58-year-old female patient. The cancer has spread to axilliary (armpit) lymph nodes where it has formed secondary deposits beneath the skin. Radical surgery to remove the kidney and affected lymph nodes may be performed, in conjunction with chemotherapy. However, at this stage of cancer development the prognosis is generally poor.
