Picture by Roger Bamber : 30 August 2013 : Two London North Eastern Railway (LNER) Sir Nigel Gresley designed A4 classs Steam lococomotives stand round the turntable at the National Railway Museum, York, as part of the 'Great Gathering' of the six surviving locomotives brought together for the 75th anniversary of sister A4 4468 "Mallard"'s steam speed record of 126 mph in 1938. The two steam engines pictured, 60008 "Dwight D. Eisenhower" and 4489 "Dominion of Canada" were presented to respective USA and Canada museums by British Railways in the 1960s but repatriated back to the UK for this historic occasion.
