Image of two Narrow Boats moored on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Kintbury. The canal connects Reading with Bristol and was completed in 1810. The canal is 87 miles long and has 104 locks. The adjacent railway line was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1847 and connects Reading with Taunton and was built as a more direct route from London to Devon and Cornwall by bypassing Bath and Bristol.
