The Air Ambulance fleet comprises two helicopters and two fixed wing planes which are fully funded by the NHS. We also greatly assisted by Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) who currently provide one additional helicopter, with fundraising underway for a second aircraft. On average, SCAA respond to one time-critical emergency call out every single day. They rely solely on donations from the public as they receive no government funding.
