Stroud, UK. 21st September 2019. Stroud, a Cotswold town hosts its annual Folk weekend. Morris dancers from around the Cotswolds and Forest of Dean prance around the town entertaining the shoppers, ending with a grand gathering in the square. Morris Dancing is a traditional English pastime, once associated with begging in the 15th to 18th centuries. Begging was illegal at the time; so blackface was adopted as a disguise. The group is Styx of Stroud. Credit: Mr Standfast/Alamy Live News
