A view of the Bramall Lane cricket ground, Sheffield. In progress is a three day Test Trial match (1st to 3rd June) between G.L.Jessop's XI and P.F.Warner's XI, ultimately won by the former. Bramall Lane ground served as both cricket and football ground for many years, shared by Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Sheffield United F.C. Yorkshire's last match there was in August 1973, and soon after a new stand was built over the cricket square enclosing the football pitch on four sides. It remains the home of Sheffield United.
