'About one p.m. the cortege, preceded by his Grace the Duke of Newcastle and Lord Lincoln on horseback, and escorted by the Clumber troop of Sherwood Rangers, left the park for the Worksop station. All along the route there were thousands of people congregated, who cheered loud, long, and enthusiastically. All the feelings of loyalty of the good people of Worksop and the surrounding villages revealed themselves on this occasion.
