This picture, just received from Palestine, shows Farozi Kawkji (left), notorious Arab agitator, and his side de camp, at the secret headquarters from which he is conducting the series of Arab raids and other outrages which have led to drastic reprisals by the British authorities. Although a fanatical patriot, it will be noted that Kawkji is discarded the traditional dress of his people and has adopted khaki shirt and shorts. 20 October 1937

Negotiations have been practically completed for the removal of the Ludgate Circus obelisk in memory of Robert Waithman (1764-1833) to Wrexham, where he was born. Waithman, linen draper, patriot and reformer, was one of the most famous men that Wrexham has ever produced. He was elected Sheriff of London and Middlesex in 1820 and Lord mayor of London 1823. The obelisk, now worn, tapering edifice of Devonshire granite, was put up in 1832. Its removal would be part of the plan for relieving traffic congestion in the Circus
