RM2PDRA9P–Catherine of Aragon (1485-1536) was the first wife of King Henry VIII of England. She was initially popular and respected for her piety and political acumen, but her inability to bear a male heir led to the annulment of her marriage and her subsequent exile from court. Catherine refused to accept the annulment and her status as Queen, which led to her being estranged from her daughter, Mary I. She died in 1536, still believing herself to be Henry's lawful wife
