An old coloured portrait of Lady Jane Grey (Queen Jane) 1537 – 12 1554, Queen of England and Ireland, also known after marriage as Lady Jane Dudley & the Nine Day Queen, at the signing of her death warrant, She was considered a threat to the British Crown because of her father's opposition to Wyatt's rebellion against Queen Mary's intended marriage to Philip II of Spain. Jane and her husband Lord Guilford Dudley were executed after only 9 days as Queen on 12 February 1554 on what is believed by many to have been a purely political 'jumped up' charge. No headstone was placed on their graves. Jane and her husband Lord Guilford Dudley were executed after only 9 days as Queen on 12 February 1554 on what is believed by many to have been a purely political 'jumped up' charge. No headstone was placed on their graves.

1824 George Caddell of Bromsgrove who was an apothecary and self taught surgeon was executed for the murder of his pregnant lover (carrying a soldier's child) Elizabeth Price who he had promised to marry and then changed his mind. After cutting her throat in a field he made his escape, leaving behind him the knife and his case of instruments which was sufficient to convict him. He was found guilty and sentenced to death by execution on 21st of July, 1700. The pair were indicted at the Old Bailey for accosting a journeyman tailor in the fields near Harrow and robbing him of two pence. They also stole his clothes and tied him to a tree before beating him up.
