Southport, Merseyside, UK 1st September, 2015. UK Weather. Sunny afternoon & High Tide on Southport Beach. The sea at Southport is said to be a rare sight! Southport is a resort beach and has a very shallow gradient with large areas of sand exposed throughout the tidal cycle. Only at very high water is the beach completely covered up to the sea wall. There is a promenade above the beach and a pier to the north of the bathing water.
