This fishmonger has been in the family for two generations and is recommended by fish guru Rick Stein. The extensive range, most of which is caught locally and fresh to the shop that day, is unpretentious and fine quality: if it's not in stock, it's not in season or not up to standard. The owners respect their fish, do their own smoking (including salmon, trout, haddock, cod, buckling and kippers) and know their stuff. They love nothing better than being asked for recipe ideas
