More information:

The Red Wattlebird, 'Anthochaera carunculata' is a species of honeyeater also known as the 'Gillbird' or 'Barkingbird'. This group of birds is found mainly in Australia and New Guinea and have highly developed tongues adapted for nectar feeding. They feed mainly on nectar and native flowers. The tongue 'flickers' repeatedly into a flower, the upper mandible then compresses liquid out when the bill closes.
