Nov. 11, 1961 - Historical telephone Equipment on show in London. A permanent exhibition of historical telephone equipment was opened this morning at Fleet Building, Farrington Street. The exhibition illustrates the progress in telephonic equipment through the ages. Keystone Photo Shows: Audrie Cooper of Lewisham with the oldest telephone in the exhibition. It the French ADER telephone with carbon pencil transmitter. The wooden diaphragm has been replaced by a platic one to show the carbon pencil.
