The Fallas or Falles festivities are about celebrating Valencian traditions and each district has is own celebrations with a Fallera Mayor appointed for each neighbourhood. The Fallera Mayor in her traditional costume with bun hairstyle decorated with brocades is the Queen of the Falla for a year and leads parades and presides over other activities. Local Fallera Mayores perform their role for each falla-community has but overall one girl is chosen to be the Fallera Mayor of the entire city of Valencia.
