The Ford Motor Company M8 Armored Car was armed with a 37mm main gun and .30 caliber machine gun within the turret. Here a 50 caliber machine gun is mounted on a turret rail. This gun was mounted to provide anti-aircraft fire but was devastating against troops although the gunner was vulnerable. The turret is hand cranked and can traverse 360 degrees. View ports are open; no side protective sponsons on this machine; 5 speed gear box; petrol / gasoline engine capable of a max speed 65mph in short bursts; siren next to left headlight (as viewed) with cats eye lamps above headlamps for stealth night movement.
