The Boiler Scrappage Scheme is a Government initiative to help meet the UK's CO2 emission reduction targets. Under the scheme the Government is offering households £400 towards the cost of upgrading G-rated or worse boilers to a high efficiency A-rated one. This is hoped to save about 140, 000t CO2 per year or equal to the emissions of 45, 000 cars.
