Berlin 2009. Twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall which I photographed in 1989 for the Independent Newspaper I returned to photograph the changes that have happened over the past 20 years. Greek Pigs, Bulls and Horses. The Pergamon Museum on Museum Island in the former eastern sector contains some of the greatest antiquities in the world including the Pergamon Altar, 170 BC, seen here. The Museum was built in the early 20th century and survived the War but some of the friezes were taken to Leningrad by the Russian army after the war. They were returned in the 1950's. 2009
