Accidents - Air: Hostess Jane lives as plane dives to disaster: An air hostess staggered into the arms of rescuers on Thursday (20-3-69) after walking out of the blazing wreckage of an airliner. She was the sole survivor of the plane's crew of four. The airliner, a Viscount belonging to British Midland Airways, Plunged into a runway at Manchester Airport, Lancashire, seconds after taking off on a routine training flight. One of the rescuers said that the hostess, Jane Timson, "walked towards us as we raced up the runway, and didn't appear badly hurt." March 1969 P04402
