A lion head sword with ivory grip and Damascus blade,for officers of the Prussian Navy 1848 - 1866 Straight,Damascus pipe-back blade(somewhat stained)with a double-edged point. With inscription,"Eisenhauer - Damaststahl" surrounded by floral decoration on the gilded ricasso. Gilded lion head hilt with a fouled anchor on the obverse guard plate. Folding guard plate on the reverse side. Ivory grip(old crack)with silver wire winding. Black leather scabbard(dented in places)with three brass mountings. Length 90 cm.
