St. Ephrem Cathedral in Mossul, like many other churches, was blown up by the IS. The Christian population was expelled by the IS, but many return to their homes in the surrounding Christian villages. Some churches could be rebuilt, so that church services can take place there again. Nevertheless the Christians are now threatened by the Shiite conquerors of the province Ninawa and the capital Mossul and more and more repressed, so that the Christians do not have good perspectives for a living in their cities.
