Mr T.F Warnock the second engineer, flashing (lighting) the oil burning furnaces of the Royal research ship William Scoresby which will sail in a few days from St Catherines Dock, London , on her new well marking expedition to the Antarctic. The research ship marks whales with darts so that their movements through the oceans can be traced. 15 September 1937.
