May 05, 1975 - The Prince of Wales is Installed as Great Master of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath by the Queen. H.M. The Queen today installed the Prince of Wales as Great Master of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath at Westminster Abbey. It was doubly historic occasion, since not only does it mark the 250th anniversary if the Order created by George I - (who actually took a bath in company with his knights, obediently following the ancient precedent of chivalry that to be bold, one had to be bathed as well) - but is is the first time a sovereign has installed and elder son as head of the Order. Photo Shows: The Prince of Wales walks in procession through the Nave of Westminster Abbey after today's ceremony. Yesterday the Prince returned from Nova Scotia wearing a beard. Today only the moustache remains - according to the Royal Navy regulations this is taboo- only a ''full set'' is permitted.
